When I saw this image today at Dexinaworld (the original image is black and white), my first thought was, 'that would make an awesome necklace!'. So I brainstormed and made it into one. I am pretty proud of the fact that I didn't go out and buy jewelry clasps, or something to adhere it to. I just looked around the house to see what I had and used it. This picture is better. It shows my coloring and the image much more clearly. As you may be able to tell, I cut out and adhered the image onto a black bottle top (the bigger ones, like what sports drinks have). I then attached a piece of cardboard to the back (to keep it from scratching my neck), and used a colored energy drink tab to weave some ribbon through (my husband drinks the energy drinks, just to clarify). You could probably color a pop top just as easily. And there you have it, one earthy (and made from recycled materials) necklace!
Aww thanks for putting the image to such fantastic use. Brilliant recycling idea and fabulous colour too. I love how the ribbon matches the blue in the image. Love this idea and will add it to the 'spot prize'folder at Dezinaworld if thats ok with you

This is really great!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that, Brandi! Very environmental!!! I love the way you've used bits of junk and turned them into something beautiful. The more I see of people's "altered" work, the more I realise I shouldn't throw ANYTHING away lol!!! (I'm a terrible hoarder as it is so not sure if this is a good influence, or a bad one!!!)
ReplyDeleteDezinaworld-of course you can add it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous so creative and great use of materials love everything xx Zoe
